Four firsts

If you’re reading this, then thanks for joining me on my blogging journey. Putting pen (not literally) to paper is something I’ve been meaning to do for a while and it’s about time I made a start. I hope my blog will be interesting to someone, and ideally more than one person but hey, I’m not counting (yet).

Given that this is my first blog post, I thought I’d start by introducing myself through sharing four of my ‘firsts’.

1. Next week I will be travelling to Hong Kong for the first time. I’ve been to Asia before, but never the ‘pearl of the Orient’ as HK was once known. Through my blog I plan to share my adventures with you, and it’s safe to say I’m very excited to fill 9 days with dim sum, the promised bustling mix of templates with skyscrapers, and to be honest a little bit of sunshine!

2. Speaking of dim sum, food will more than likely play a heavy part in my blog posts. I think sampling the local cuisine is a great way to really ‘live’ a place, but it’s also largely because I love food. Tomorrow I’m doing my first bottomless brunch of 2018, which the more switched on of you will realise is where my blog name came from. Me and my two best pals are very, shall we say, fond of the old (but actually quite new) boozy brunch. What better way to catch up then over lots of good food and endless prosecco?

3. Last weekend I had my first ice cream of the year when I took a little daytrip to Southend-on-Sea. Was it just me or was it unusually sunny and barable for mid-February? When I went back into the office I found my colleagues gave me a strange look when I mentioned ice cream…

4. My final first of today is a less-than-subtle way of introducing a very big part of my life. Today is the first February 23rd that I’ve woken up with my 10 month old puppy, Cleo. If you have a little scroll on my homepage, you can almost guarantee (unless I’m somewhere particularly food-stagram worthy) that one of my instagrams will be of her looking (bit biased but..) very cute.

Ciao for now, and here’s my quote of the day:

‘Being the first always creates a pressure that you don’t want to be the last.’ ā€” Rachel Maddow

p.s. this quote is in honour of TIME Firsts: Women leaders who are changing the world, which happens to have excelled SEO ranking and actually appeared first when I googled ‘Firsts’ (don’t ask why I did that…).
